Scam is term referring to fraud and or simply as taking advantage of others. Incidents such as illegal entry to email accounts, bank accounts, etc. are illustrations of scam. Applying one of God’s commandment, THOU SHALL NOT STEAL, being part of a scam is not just illegal based on our laws but it is also against the orders of God.

Despite of all the efforts to combat fraudulent transactions, it seems that is unstoppable that it even takes place in the cyber space. With this, people are advised to take extra care when dealing with others. As ordinary individuals there are precautions that can be observed to avoid being a victim a scam. Do not simply trust any site that promises you gift checks, easy-money, etc. If you can check its credibility then do it. Also, do not try to apply online to sites that require you to pay a specific amount as a registration fee. Users should do their part ad be accountable for their actions as well. Self-regulation should be applied.

Location is one of the factors that affect employment. When you look for a job, you don’t just choose something that fits your interests and values. You also ask yourself if this particular job you are eyeing is accessible from where you live, either by bus, train or whatever mode of transportation there is.

If accessibility becomes a problem, you have to decide if you will still pursue the job by living in the city where it is located. This is where cost of living enters. Knowing how much it will cost you to live in another city (food prices, gasoline/fare, rent, utility rates, health care, etc.) can help you weigh matters more objectively.

This cost of living calculator from CNNMoney.com could serve as your guide in making that big decision.

Do you wish to have a job wherein you can work at your own time, own home and earn even if you are just sitting there in front of your computer? No more missed reunions due to work! With a high speed internet (stable one), you can now get a job online!

There are thousands of work from home job postings on the internet that promise to give you a high pay while working from your home’s luxury. However, do not try to be a bait to every online posting you see. Most of them are scams. There are only a few online jobs that are legit. If for example, the company asks you to pay for a certain registration fee. Most probably, that job is nothing but a scam. These companies “employ” you thus, they need your service. Why would you pay the company if they are the ones who are in dire need of your assistance?

Browsing online has now been an easy way to search for jobs. Some get lucky and find jobs while some don’t and some get scammed.

Here’s help in avoiding scams:

1. Easy Money. People don’t get rich overnight. You can’t become a millionaire in a week unless you win the lottery. It takes hard work and perseverance.

2. They make you pay to get the job. Finding a job is free of charge. You do not need to pay anything. The companies will be the one to pay you if you get hired not the other way around.

3. Websites. Professional scammers already know how to make websites. They are really getting good at this. Just because the site looks good doesn’t mean it’s legitimate.

4. Research. Check for information online not just their website. You can do a general search on yahoo or google about the company and you’re bound to find something.

5. Ask around. Ask friends, relatives if they have heard about the company. Testimonials from current and previous employees could also help.

Finally, ask questions as much as you can about the company and the job. If you are not satisfied with the answers then there must be something wrong.

Job scams has become very prevalent and we have to stop this. Follow your intuition and there is nothing wrong in asking around for advice just to be sure before venturing into anything.

Building a successful career is never easy. Whether you are a fresh graduate, has already landed a job, want to switch to a new job or planning to retire, you are faced with too many challenges that you have to focus on your priorities. Failure is the least you want to experience so you need to manage your career wisely.

Here are some tips in building your career:

1.	Invest on higher education. Pursuing higher education like masterals and PhDs is always an edge in the employment world.
2.	Establish a personal brand. Companies treat applicants as commodities, the higher your value, the better is your chance of employment. Differentiate yourself from others to claim the job.

Resumes and cover letters always go hand-in-hand in every job search. A cover letter calls the attention of the employer to look into your resume and assess your capabilities as a worker.

With a cover letter, it is like saying to the company that I am the right one for the job. It is like an advertisement that gives the employer an idea of who you are and what you are capable of doing. Your resume, on the other hand, is the product that will prove all that has been said. It will live up to your statement and try to win the coveted employment opportunity.

So, make sure that when you look for job openings and find some, you know how to write a resume and a cover letter. This combination is a must and usually works wonders for many. You know you dont want to screw up your job search by not being prepared.

Resumes are your key to job interviews. Writing one can be challenging for most people. Learning the basic steps in writing a resume could help you advance your job search and eventually get a job.

Here are the three basic steps in writing a resume:

1.	Use a format that fits your business goals. If you have past work experiences, the chronological format is the best for you. It presents your employment record from the recent down to the past.
2.	Cut down on pages. Most employers prefer a two-page detailed resume, may it be written or online.
3.	Avoid resume errors. Misspelled words, changing fonts and incorrect use of punctuations and capitalizations are the common resume mistakes that every job seeker must keep away from.

Email has now been one of the ways we communicate with one another and has become as easy way to apply for jobs. Here are simple ways to make email work to our advantage especially in sending applications online:

State in the subject the reason for your email. Like if you are applying for a job, you can put, Application for HR Manager. With these the recipient already has an idea on the contents of your email.

Indicate where you saw the job vacancy. Also put relevant years of experience.

Use a professional Email address. Email addresses like pretty_me@yahoo.com or looser@gmail.com may be deleted immediately as it seems like a junk email than a job application. People usually have their names in email addresses.

Have the correct email address for the company you are applying for. You wouldn’t want you application to go to someone else’s inbox.

Put a signature at the bottom of your email, which includes your current post and your contact details

Now you can start sending away those applications. It saves you time from printing and less paper also helps the environment by saving the trees.
