April 7th, 2008

I know most of my posts are about finding jobs online. This time around, I’ll give way to a job search tip that is done outside the realms of cyberspace. It’s joining a job search support group. I’m sure you’ve heard about networking but a support group is different from that. Though social networks and job search support groups are similar in the sense that they help people find employment, the former connect people while the latter encourage positive interaction such as giving moral support and assistance.

To join a job search support group, all you need to do is check within your community if such a group exists. In the United States, you may inquire at your local state employment office. You may also check with your local churches to know if they are groups of that kind that conduct meetings in their facilities.
