Expanding your contacts
It’s common sense that contacts can make or break your career. They give you access to better jobs, on the side projects, and the like. And with the increasing number of companies that are looking to the net to find suitable employees, a website has emerged to take professional contacts and put them on the web.

Enter LinkedIn, a professional networking site that allows users to build their contacts – mostly people they work for or have worked for, former colleagues and bosses, and the like. LinkedIn works just like a social networking site, except instead of collecting friends, you collect contacts. LinkedIn also has a recommendation feature, where people you’ve worked with in the past can recommend you if they feel that you’ve done a good job for them. This in turn allows you to get more clients / job offers as you have positive feedback from others.
